We built Chattering to help support teams work faster, not to harvest data. We collect what we need to run the product, and nothing more.

Information We Collect

There are two types of information we work with: things you tell us directly, and things we pick up automatically when you use the product.

What you provide:

• Your name, email address, and password when you sign up
• Any profile details you choose to add later
• Messages you send through our support chat or email
• Payment details, which are handled by our payment provider (Stripe) — we never see your full card number

What we collect automatically:

• Basic log data like your IP address, browser type, and which pages you visited
• Device information such as your operating system
• How you use the product — which features you open, which buttons you click

How We Use Your Information

Everything we collect goes toward keeping the product running and making it better. Here is what that means in practice:

• Running the service — so your AI agents answer, your inbox works, and your help center stays up
• Processing payments and sending receipts
• Sending you important updates like security alerts or billing changes
• Answering your questions when you contact us
• Understanding how people use the product so we can fix problems and build the right features
• Stopping fraud and keeping accounts safe

Information Sharing

We don't sell your personal information. We never have and we don't plan to.

We do share limited information with a small number of service providers who help us run the product — for example, our hosting provider and our payment processor. Each of them is bound by confidentiality agreements and can only use the data to do the job we hired them for.

Data Retention

We keep your information as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we delete your data. You can also ask us to delete specific information at any time by emailing us.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, privacy laws may give you the right to see what data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or export it. We respect all of these requests regardless of where you are. To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@chattering.ai. We aim to respond within 30 days.

Security

We take data protection seriously. All data is encrypted both when it travels between your browser and our servers (using TLS) and when it sits in our database (using AES-256 encryption). We run regular security checks and follow industry best practices. That said, no system connected to the internet is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

If we change this Privacy Policy, we'll post the new version on this page and update the date at the top. For major changes, we'll also send you an email so you aren't caught off guard.
